Update from Madeline

Dear Friends of Charley,

Please remember Charley and his family in yourprayers.

The doctors have begun a new treatmentfor him. It began yesterday (Tuesday) and afterThursday's treatment, the medical team will decide whether to continue with this treatment or to switchto a low-intensity single chemotherapy drug. Charley's white blood count continues to rise but the amount of Blasts in his white blood cells also continue to rise. The goal is to have no Blasts whatsoever. Doctors are carefully monitoring his white blood count with the hope that the trend will bereversed or slowed. They have inserted another PIC line which will allow them to speed up treatment. I saw Charley today. He was tired, and a littlecranky, but after a while he perked up and was interested in new toys and games.
