Physical Therapy and a New Friend!
Today, Charley enjoyed some exercise with a physical therapist. He even invited his 6-North neighbor, Charlie, to join him. Charlie and Charley enjoyed playing together!

Cherng Couple"s Wishes for Children in Need
We have much to be anxious for, as patients with newly diagnosed leukemia in China increases 40,000 annually, with about one half being children. Most parents cannot provide proper treatment because their own medical insurance does not include their children and the costs of treatment for leukemia often burdens a family. The Cherng couple has become friends with many of the families who face the same battle against leukemia everyday with their own children. Also, they gradually comprehend other parents physical pain, emotional exhaustion and financial burden which entangled with such a terrified illness. Apparently, this tremendous burden is too heavy to be bore by a single family in China. It is hopeful that the morning star of warm support will shine bright when each individual, both Chinese Americans and American co-fellows, hold hands together to campaign with non-profit organizations, religious organizations, medical associations, related enterprises and the Chinese government for . [Our appeal to the competent people in our society, in paying close attention to others, at equal pace, can show consideration and care to children with leukemia and other handicaps, particularly in China. The concern and love by all walks of life towards the anguished and suffering children and their families would provide the greatest comfort and support. We hope that the weakened young lives can become as healthy and successful as other children. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out Gospel of Matthew 12:20.]
程建平夫婦亦呼籲對中國孤兒, 尤其是殘疾孤兒的領養, 以及對大陸超過兩百萬白血病兒童的關懷。甚感謝中國和美國政府的大力支持，田田成為第一位白血病童從中國完成國際領養。幾處中國大城 (如北京, 廣州) 的兒童福利院，其中殘疾孤兒高佔90%以上。陸續聽到一些西方家庭領養中國殘障孤兒的感人故事，深覺該是海外華人共同關切參與的時刻了。 至於中國每年新增白血病人四萬多，其中一半以上是兒童和青年，另人怎不揪心。由於員工醫療保險絕大多數不包括子女, 而不少父母並未購買商業保險, 以致白血病兒的昂貴醫療費常使全家走投無路。程氏夫婦每回去北京探訪田田, 和不少白血病兒童的父母成為朋友, 逐漸體會他們身心耗竭與財源短缺的苦痛, 這決不是少數有心人的能力所及, 必須海內外華人愛心凝聚一堂, 推動社團、學會、相關企業和政府攜手合作才能見曙光,
我们的心願：社會上有能力的人士在關注其它需要的同时，也能将關注的目光更多投向白血病兒童及殘疾孤兒這個群体(中國尤其需要)。各界的關爱對於這些在各種痛苦煎熬中的孩子們及他們的家人將是莫大的安慰和支持。壓傷的蘆葦他不折斷，將殘的燈火他不吹滅 [馬太福音十二章二十節] 。
願這些弱勢之小生命都能像其他孩子們一樣健康成功。
